Sharks in the Ocean Swoosh! That is the sound of a shark dashing through the waves. Sharks are very fascinating creatures. Many people think that they are man-eating monsters, but that is not even close to being true. In this paper, you will find that sharks are not what everyone believes they are. They are actually very interesting and it is not very likely that they will choose to attack a human. Sharks are one of the most unique creatures on the planet and they are really fun to learn about.
There are about 350 species of sharks that have been discovered, and no two are exactly the same. Sharks breathe through little slits on their bodies called gills. An average shark will have about five of them. But, most fish have only one. Sharks swim through the water at about two or three miles an hour on average, but, fins swishing, teeth clenching, some can swim almost sixty miles an hour! They need to be able to swim to catch prey. Not every shark eats the same thing. The Great White eats other fish, but some sharks,like the Whale shark, feed off of plankton.
Sharks can be found in every ocean and all over the world. Sharks usually are located between the water’s surface and about 3000 feet down. Most species of sharks live in colder water. Rarely will you find a shark in warmer temperatures. Sharks usually stay in the same general area for their whole life, although sometimes sharks can migrate up to 1000 miles. The Bull Shark often leaves ocean waters and travels into freshwater areas!
The majority of sharks are carnivorous creatures. Very seldom will you find a shark that does not feed on other fish. Most sharks tear their prey apart and eat the bits that they tear off. Another type of feeding is called filter feeding. Mostly bigger sharks do this such as the whale shark and the Megamouth. This is basically where they just suck up plankton and other kinds of fish and just swallow them whole--completely whole.
As you can see sharks are very interesting creatures and have a unique way of doing things. They are very intelligent creatures and are really fun to study. They are really cool and I encourage people to learn more about them. They are often misunderstood and are called monsters. But as it is explained in this paper, that is not true.

How to Make a Papier Mache Shark
If you want to make a papier mache shark, there are several steps you need to do to make one. First, you need to make sure you have all the right materials to make it. These materials include, flour, water, newspaper, and a large mixing bowl. But before you papier mache, you need to make an armature, or model. You can use many things to make this, but I chose to use poster board, a balloon, and some tape.
To build your model, you need to first blow up the balloon. You need to blow it up big enough to make a body, but don’t blow it up so big that you can’t tie it. After you have finished blowing up the balloon, you need to attach the poster board. You will need about three pieces of poster board for this, but you might want to cut some of it off if desired. When attaching the poster board to the balloon, you need to put the end of it on the balloon and then fold it like a cone to shape the body of the shark. Then you tape it on. You make the cones out of poster board on both sides of the balloon.
Next, you need to start papier macheing. For this, you need to mix flour and water. Then, you need to rip the newspaper into small strips. Next, you need to dip the strips in the mixture and place them on your model. You will need to do about three coats of this. On the last coat, you might find that using white typing paper making it easier to paint.
To make the fins and the tail you need to get thick project board and cut it into the preferred shapes. There will be about 2 to 4 fins on the shark, so make sure you use enough project board. Once you have cut it, you tape it onto your shark and cover it with papier mache.
Next, you need to make the mouth. The mouth is made mostly out of cardboard. First, you need to cut the cardboard into a circle. Then, you need to fold it down the middle. Next it is time to apply the teeth. For the teeth you need to use the leftover project board and cut it into the shape of teeth. Then you need to paint it. You can paint it either black or red depending on what color you like. Your mouth is now finished.
Finally it is time to paint. You will need to pick what color paint you use for your shark. Then you apply the paint and after you let it dry. Your shark is now ready to go. Pictures
